3D Vision-Guided Machine Tending of Gear Shafts

This application example from the 3D vision manufacturer Mech Mind demonstrates how intelligent camera systems can be implemented in handling processes in manufacturing.

In the blue box, the gear shafts lie unsorted on top of each other. In order for the robot to pick them up correctly each time, the camera must recognize the position and pass this information on to the robot. The UR3e then places the parts in a fixture for inspection. If the quality check is successful, the parts are sorted.
