The Dobot Nova 2

The DOBOT Nova 2 is an ultra-compact 6-axis cobot with a payload of 2 kg, a reach of 625 mm and a repeatability of ±0.05 mm. Weighing just 11 kg, with an IP54 protection rating and a space-saving design, it is ideal for flexible automation tasks in confined spaces.

The DSC controller runs on DobotStudio Pro and supports graphical programming via Blockly, Lua scripting and API integrations for Python. Integrated EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU interfaces ensure seamless PLC connectivity. Programming is carried out via a PC, Android app or teach pendant.

Ideal for pick-and-place, assembly, quality inspection, machine feeding, packaging, labelling, as well as flexible production cells and AGV-based automation solutions.

How to set up and programme the Dobot Nova 2

Commissioning is carried out via DobotStudio Pro and can be performed using a PC, Android or iOS device, or optionally via the TP10 teach pendant. The DSC platform supports industrial communication standards such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU, enabling it to be integrated directly into existing PLC environments. Programming interfaces and APIs, including Python integration, are available for custom applications. In addition, the software supports graphical programming, vision commands, conveyor tracking and parallel program execution. Thanks to the combination of an intuitive user interface and industrial interfaces, initial commissioning can be carried out even in projects with a manageable level of engineering effort.
